It was with a heavy heart that Columbia Police Chief W.H. “Skip” Holbrook shares the passing of a dedicated police officer.
While off-duty on Thursday, March 2, 2023, Master Police Officer Tony Rhinehart passed away unexpectedly of natural causes.
A Columbia native, MPO Rhinehart was most recently assigned to the CPD Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) under the Special Operations Bureau. He initially served the City of Columbia from 1995 to 2012, briefly retired, then returned to the department until his untimely passing.
Funeral arrangements remain in process.
