The Columbia Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit is investigating a fatal collision at the 3900 block of West Beltline Boulevard involving a 17-year-old male.
The collision happened shortly after 9:00 p.m. on May 24, 2023. Preliminary information: A car traveling westbound on the roadway struck the teen dirt bike driver who was traveling eastbound. At this time, it appears that the dirt bike was not operating front or rear lights or signals. The teen driver was not wearing a helmet or reflective gear at night. Both drivers were taken to a hospital where sadly, the teen was pronounced deceased.
