The Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Property Crimes Unit (PCU) investigators are reviewing surveillance video and pictures to identify the suspects accused of committing a series of auto break-ins at multiple South Columbia neighborhoods.
The vehicles were broken into on March 7, 2026, and on February 28, 2026, in the King’s Grant and Yorkshire neighborhoods, likely during the overnight hours. While there are similarities between the cases, investigators are working to determine if the same suspects committed the vehicle break-ins and theft of miscellaneous items.
Chief W.H. ‘Skip’ Holbrook invites residents to partner with CPD by checking their home security systems for any surveillance video that may help in identifying the suspects. If you were a victim associated with these recent crimes and have footage to share, please call the non-emergency dispatch number at (803) 252-2911. Request an officer to come to your home, and then provide the vital information that can help solve the cases. The officer will explain how to share surveillance video. Always call 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity.
