Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with last night’s shooting incident at the Colony Apartments.
Kevonta D. Jones is charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime, and Assault & Battery of a High & Aggravated Nature. The suspect turned himself in to Columbia Police Investigators.Jones is accused of shooting two males after an argument during the isolated incident shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2021.
At last check, both victims remained in critical condition at a local hospital.
It’s believed that Jones had a personal conflict with one of the victims. Jones is housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
