By October 5, 2018Press Releases

Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers are releasing a composite sketch of what a shooting suspect may look like to aid in the investigation.

The sketch comes courtesy of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

The shooting suspect is described as a light-skinned black male with a mustache, possibly between 5’0” and 5’3” with an average build.

**He should be considered armed and dangerous **

The suspect is accused of shooting a female in the upper body shortly before 5:30 a.m. at Waverly Place Apartments at 2210 Waverly Street during what’s believed to be a home burglary.

The female received life-threatening injuries and at last check was listed in critical condition by medical staff.

A male victim at the home was also injured after being hit multiple times with a gun. He has since been treated and released from a local hospital.

The shooter may be in the company of an older black male, possibly in the mid-to-late 50’s and 6’02” – 6’03,” average build with ‘scruffy’ facial hair.

Investigators are working leads in the case and will continue to determine if this crime was an isolated incident or not.
