Third Suspect Arrested in Armed Robbery Investigation

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces the arrest of a third suspect accused of stealing a man’s car at gunpoint last week.

Juan O’Brian Gilliam (DOB: 7-5-1995) is charged with Armed Robbery, Grand Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol.

Gilliam was arrested last night at a home on Gloria Trail by members of the Midlands Gang Task Force and North Region Officers.

Two of Gilliam’s alleged co-defendants; Tareeck Hinton (DOB: 7-9-1997) and Dominque Profit (DOB: 10- 27-1988) were arrested and charged on March 3 after a K9 Team apprehended them at a home on Barhamville Road. All suspects face the same charges.

The trio is accused of stealing a Chevy Silverado, money and a cell phone from a man at gunpoint at 3245 Lucius Road last Thursday.

The victim was not physically injured during the incident. Hinton and Profit were engaged by the K9 and received medical treatment for their injuries.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
