Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces the man who was shot at Hammond Village Friday night, died from his injury.

The incident occurred before 9:00 p.m. on April 8, 2016 on 921 Marlboro Street in North Columbia.

The male victim was standing outside at the same time occupants inside two vehicles, described by witnesses as a white Chevy Impala and a burgundy/red Chevy Avalanche fired shots at him.

Investigators have collected evidence from the crime scene, and are currently following leads, including working with other law enforcement partners and the Richland County Coroner’s Office on the case.
