Hit and Run Collision Investigation

By April 20, 2016December 31st, 2016Press Releases

Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces that a motorcyclist’s leg had to be medically amputated after being the victim of a hit and run collision.

Traffic Safety Unit and North Region officers responded to the 3000 block of Truman Street shortly before 10 o’clock last night.

According to a witness, the motorcyclist was traveling south while a green 1990’s model Ford Explorer was traveling north on Truman Street.

It’s believed that the SUV turned into the path of the motorcycle, pushing it and the driver into a brick and wrought iron fence. The SUV driver then left the scene. Officers continue to gather evidence in the crime.
