Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces the arrest of a man accused of stabbing two people last night.

Corneilous Williams (DOB: 7-12-1986) is charged with Two Counts of Attempted Murder, Two Counts of Second Degree Assault and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime. This morning, a judge set a $750,000 bond.

Williams was arrested last night after allegedly stabbing two males near the 1400 block of Main Street at approximately 10:30 p.m.

According to witnesses, Williams inappropriately touched a female while she was walking with a male friend, and when confronted by the male, Williams allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the arms.

The female ran for help and located a nearby security guard who was stabbed in the side as he tried to subdue the suspect. The security guard managed to chase the suspect and detain him until CPD officers arrived on scene a short time later.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital where they continue to receive treatment.

Williams was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
