Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces an arrest in a shooting investigation.

Darrel Mosely, Junior (DOB: 10-12-1975) is charged with Attempted Murder after being accused of arguing with the male victim at the 1800 block of Hampton Street shortly before 7 o’clock last night.

It’s believed that after the argument Mosely went into his apartment to retrieve a gun, and shot the victim in the upper body.

The victim was able to run to the intersection of Barnwell and Washington Streets which is the same location CPD officers found him. EMS treated the man on the scene before taking him to a local hospital where he has since been treated and released.

Officers were given a description of the suspect and located him soon after the crime. Mosely was detained and questioned by Investigators, then transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
