Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook announces that the male victim who was seriously injured during an overnight shooting continues to receive medical treatment.
The 23-year-old black male who was shot multiple times was taken to a local hospital by a friend.
When officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Tree Street shortly before midnight, they gathered information and evidence from the scene.
Today, investigators are re-canvassing the crime scene and continue to search for possible surveillance video to aid the case.
Meanwhile, a motive for the crime continues to be determined.
