Man Charged in Two Armed Robbery Investigations

A Crimestoppers tip has led to the identification and arrest of a man accused of robbing cash from the same business on two occasions.

Jonathan Charles Johnson (DOB: 11-25-1970) is charged with Two Counts of Armed Robbery, Two Counts of Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Assault and Battery – First Degree.

Johnson is accused of robbing the Subway restaurant located at 2108 Devine Street on February 10 and 24, 2017.

In both cases, Johnson was described as using a sharp object to demand money from the victims.  In the second incident, a female employee tried defending herself and the store, and as a result was cut on the arm. The victim was not seriously injured.

Johnson is currently housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
