Arrest Made in Harden Street Assault Investigation

The suspect accused of assaulting a male at a Harden Street bar earlier this month has been arrested.

Daniel Halsey Wells (DOB: 3-11-1988) turned himself in to CPD Investigators early this morning (March 31, 2017) and is charged with Assault and Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature.

A judge has set a $50,000 surety bond for Wells.

He’s accused of grabbing the victim in a choke hold rendering him unconscious, and then throwing him to the ground causing him to lose several teeth and suffer a broken jaw.

Since the assault, the victim has been released from a local hospital but is still receiving medical treatment.

Investigators received several Crimestoppers tips and have reviewed surveillance video of the crime which occurred on March 19, 2017 at 800 Harden Street.

The motive for the crime continues to be determined.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
