Shooting Investigation – Persons of Interest Sought

 

Columbia Police Investigators are working to identify and locate two persons of interest related to a deadly weekend shooting.

The persons of interest are described as African American females who were together at 930 Laurel Street (Finlay Park) on May 27, 2017. One female was wearing a pink dress; the other a grey dress.

Investigators believe the two females have information about the crime that can aid the investigation.

According to Richland County Coroner Gary Watts, 37-year-old Laron L. Martin died as a result of a gunshot wound to the torso. Martin was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.

Information gathered in the case indicates that Martin and the unidentified suspect were arguing before the shooting occurred.
