Columbia Police Investigators have charged a 43-year-old man with Kidnapping and Third Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor.
Eric Charles Johnson (DOB: 6-12-1974) is accused of fondling a 12-year-old girl at a Bentley Court home in 2013. The victim recently reported the crime to relatives and law enforcement. Johnson was located today by members of the CPD Warrant Team at the In Town Suites located on Two Notch Road.
Johnson allegedly asked the victim to perform a sex act on him and would not allow her to leave a bedroom. The child managed to get away from Johnson and find safety.
Johnson is acquainted with the victim and her family.
The suspect was booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC). All persons arrested/charged is presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
