Arrest: Man Charged in CarJacking Investigation

Columbia Police Officers have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a carjacking, attempted carjacking and armed robbery investigations.

Cameron Christopher Williams (DOB: 7-17-1995) is currently  housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC) on a $25,000 surety bond on Carjacking, Attempted Carjacking and Armed Robbery. Williams is accused of demanding a vehicle from a female victim at gunpoint and stealing the SUV at 7503 Garners Ferry Road (Ollie’s Bargain Outlet) on June 23, 2017.

The next day at 7421 Garners Ferry Road, (Richland County Library Southeast) Williams is accused of being armed with a handgun and trying to steal another female’s vehicle. He left the scene when the victim advised that she didn’t have the car keys.

No one was injured during either incident.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
