Citizen’s Concern Leads to Narcotics Arrest at Local Hotel

Columbia Police officers made a narcotics arrest this week after receiving a complaint at a local hotel.

Officers responded to 200 Stoneridge Drive (Embassy Suites) shortly before 2:00 p.m. on July 6, 2017 and smelled what appeared to be marijuana coming from inside of a room.

When officers entered the room, they located marijuana in plastic bags, several pre-loaded pipes and syringes containing hash oil, bottles of THC syrup, more than $2200, and a firearm.

As a result, Charles Brown (DOB: 11-7-1976) has  been charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and Hashish.

Brown is out of the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
