Update: Attempted Murder Suspect Identified & Wanted in Shooting Case

Columbia Police Investigators have identified a 23-year-old man who is now wanted in connection with a weekend shooting incident.

Arrest warrants have been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database for Jerome Coleman (DOB: 5-4-1994). Once arrested, Coleman is expected to be charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

Coleman should be considered armed and dangerous.

Coleman is accused of shooting the male victim in the upper body while leaving a party at 3140 Bronx Street in the Belvedere community on Saturday, August 5, 2017,

At last check, the victim was in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.

Investigators continue to determine a motive for this isolated incident.
