Man Charged with DUI, Unlawful Urination after Collision

A Columbia Police officer has arrested a 32-year-old man after a suspected drunk driving collision near an entertainment district.

John Derrick Mullins (DOB: 6-16-1985) is charged with Driving Under the Influence, Public Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest and Unlawful Urination.

Mullins is accused of hitting two occupied vehicles at the 700 block of Harden Street at approximately 1:30 this morning. No one was injured during the incident.

Shortly after a traffic stop, Mullins allegedly fought with an officer while resisting arrest.

When Mullins was brought to the data master room at CPD headquarters, he is accused of threatening the life of the officer and his relatives, and urinating on the floor.

At last check, Mullins was still being detained at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC).

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
