The Columbia Police Department’s Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) is investigating a serious collision involving a pick-up truck and moped.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the 1800 block of Rosewood Drive.
TSU officers believes the 23-year-old truck driver was speeding East on Rosewood when it struck the moped from behind, dragging it down the roadway before both vehicles hit a tree.
Both drivers were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. The 22-year-old victim on the moped remains in critical condition.
