Arrest Made After Bus Station Assault

A 48-year-old man has been arrested by Columbia Police officers after being accused of assaulting a man with a sharp object at a bus station in North Columbia.

Chuvalo Barringer (DOB: 9-7-1969) is charged with Second Degree Assault and Battery.

Barringer allegedly cut the victim in the upper arm, causing a deep laceration while at the Greyhound bus station located at 710 Buckner Road yesterday morning.

The victim went to a local hospital and received multiple stitches as a result of his injuries.

Barringer was seen running away from the incident location but was found by a Richland County Sheriff’s Department deputy a short time later on Eisenhower Drive.

After being transferred to CPD’s custody, Barringer was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC).
