Wanted: Charlotte, NC Fugitives with Ties to Columbia

On behalf of our law enforcement partner, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), we are assisting with the dissemination of information regarding two wanted suspects in connection with a NC murder investigation.

** It’s believed that the male suspect, Joseph Tyrell Abercrombie (AKA: “South Carolina” or “Jay”) has ties to Columbia.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department | Case Update:

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Homicide Unit are requesting the public’s continued assistance in locating Joseph Tyrell Abercrombie  (DOB: 04/07/1985), who is wanted for the murder of Antwain Maurice Price.

During the investigation, detectives identified Abercrombie as a suspect in this case and obtained warrants for Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Abercrombie knows that he is wanted and is reportedly moving along interstates staying in motels throughout North Carolina and South Carolina.  Additionally, Abercrombie has arrest warrants unrelated to the murder for Obtaining Property by False Pretenses, Identity Theft, Possession of Stolen Goods, Felony Conspiracy, Conspiracy to Obtain Property by False Pretenses, and a Probation Violation.

Abercrombie should be considered Armed and Dangerous. 

Continued investigation into this case has revealed Joseph Abercrombie is likely in the company of Bria Anansa Shawntia Robinson, (DOB: 06/27/1993).  Bria Robinson has ties in Spartanburg, South Carolina, but is possibly anywhere in North Carolina or South Carolina.

This is an ongoing, active investigation.  Anyone with information regarding Abercrombie’s whereabouts should immediately contact the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) at 704-336-VCAT, or call 9-1-1. As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.
