Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers have arrested a second suspect in connection with a deadly shooting from Samson Circle last month.
25-year-old Roshamel Parker (DOB: 12-10-1992) is currently housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC) charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, Attempted Armed Robbery, and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.
He was released from a local hospital after being wounded at a Samson Circle home on March 25, 2018.
CPD Investigators believe that Parker and co-defendant, 18-year-old Gwan Lamont Perry, Junior, who faces the same charges, shot two victims after an argument about narcotics.
One of the victims died as a result of his injuries. Richland County Coroner Gary Watts previously identified him as 30-year-old Cory Cornelius Jenkins. Watts determined that Jenkins died from gunshot wounds to the upper body.
The second victim found at the home suffered from a gunshot wound to the upper arm. He has since been treated and released from a local hospital.
It’s believed that one of the victims returned fire at the suspects during the attempted armed robbery.
All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
