Investigators with the Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Special Victims Unit (SVU) have arrested the male suspect accused of assaulting a child earlier this month.
Farron Jermaine Killingsworth (DOB: 5-23-1984) turned himself in to Columbia Police Investigators a short time ago after seeing news reports that he was wanted by law enforcement.
Killingsworth is now charged with Unlawful Neglect of a Child (or Helpless Person) and is headed to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. (ASGDC). An updated booking photograph is not yet available.
Killingsworth is accused of repeatedly striking a 3-year-old girl in the face and body causing significant injuries after the child began crying. The victim was medically treated after the May 3, 2018 incident and is recovering.
All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
