CPD Update: Woman Charged in 2016 Murder Investigation, Sentenced Today

The woman charged in connection with a 2016 murder investigation at a North Columbia hotel was  sentenced in General Sessions Court today.

Natila J. Tucker (DOB: 12-15-1974) who was initially charged with Murder and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, pled guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter (in addition to the Possession charge) and received a thirty (30) year (concurrent) sentence.

The initial incident occurred on May 8, 2016 at the Coronet Motel on North Main Street.

Tucker, who is allegedly a prostitute, is accused of arguing and physically fighting with the male victim about money for sexual services. Tucker is accused of shooting the victim in the head.

The victim, identified by Richland County Coroner Gary Watts as Tyron Jackson was discovered deceased by a motel employee who quickly called 9-1-1.

Tucker is also accused of stealing Jackson’s car from the scene and was in possession of his personal items after the murder.
