Serious Single-Vehicle Collision

The Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Traffic Safety Unit (TSU) is investigating a single-vehicle collision that happened over the weekend.

Officers responded to Pisgah Church Road (near Farrow Road and Wilson Boulevard) shortly before 5:00 a.m. on June 10, 2018.

The initial investigation has revealed that the 27-year-old male driver of a 2012 Chevy Camero was speeding on Pisgah Church Road when he left the right shoulder of the roadway and flipped several times before coming to rest.

It is not believed that the driver was wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, causing multiple serious injuries. The man remains at a local hospital in critical condition.

Investigators believe that alcohol played a factor in the incident. Meanwhile, the investigation continues.
