Crimestoppers: Cold Case Investigation | Amir Jennings’ 8th Birthday

As the Columbia Police Department’s Cold Case Unit continues to investigate the disappearance of Amir Jennings, today marks his 8th birthday.

The little boy was last seen with his mother Zinah Jennings during the Thanksgiving holiday in November 2011.

A month later, CPD investigators charged Zinah Jennings with Unlawful Conduct Towards a Child for allegedly providing false information to CPD regarding her son’s whereabouts. She was convicted of that charge in 2012, and served 4 years of her initial 10-year sentence.

Since the conviction, Zinah Jennings has not been cooperative with CPD investigators, or provided information regarding her son’s whereabouts.

CPD encourages citizens to call Crimestoppers if they recall conversations that had with Zinah Jennings regarding Amir’s disappearance.

In addition to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division processing forensic
evidence collected during the investigation, CPD is working with SLED’s Behavioral Science Unit.

Anyone with information regarding Amir Jennings whereabouts are encouraged to contact CRIMESTOPPERS in any of the following ways:CALL toll-free, 888-CRIME-SC.
