Arrests Made in Two Additional Cases of Ill Treatment of Animals

Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers have made arrests in two animal cruelty investigations.

The latest incident occurred on November 14, 2018 at 1728 McAlister Street where City of Columbia animal control and CPD officers found two deceased pit bulls  in the back yard. The animals appeared to have died as a result of neglect and malnutrition and had visible signs of not being properly fed.

As a result, the suspect, Louric Shanel Odom (DOB: February 1975) is charged with Ill Treatment of Animals and has been released from the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond set by a judge.

Lacretia Gallman (DOB: November 1982) is also charged with Ill Treatment of Animals in connection with an investigation from November 9, 2018 at 4215 Lester Drive.

In this case, a officer who was responding to a domestic dispute, found a pit bull outside without food or shelter in cold temperatures in the rain. The dog appeared to be emaciated with his ribs showing.

Animal Control officers seized the dog.

Gallman was housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center and has since been released on a $7,500 bond set by a judge.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
