Columbia Police Department (CPD) investigators have arrested arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred last week in South Columbia.
According to Police Chief W.H. Skip Holbrook, Christopher Lovell was located in Charleston, S.C. by task force members with the United States Marshals Service (USMS) which includes CPD officers, the Charleston Sheriff’s Office, and the Charleston Police Department.
As a result, Lovell is charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime. The charges stem from an isloated incident between acquaintances on December 17, 2020.
Lovell is accused of shooting victim Avery McQueen in the upper body after an argument inside an Elmtree Road home.
All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
