Crimestoppers: Man Being Sought in Costly

Columbia Police Department (CPD) Investigators are searching for a man suspected of scamming a victim out of hundreds of thousands of dollars in a phony construction deal.

CPD officers have an active arrest warrant for 44-year-old Damon D. McDuffie for Obtaining Property under False Pretenses. The warrant information has been entered in to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.

McDuffie is accused of signing a contract under “Heritage Construction Inspection and Mitigation Services,” with the male victim for a home construction project worth more than $300,000. The suspect is accused of cashing the payment checks and not delivering on the agreed upon services.
