Stabbing Arrest | Main Street Incident

Columbia Police Department (CPD) investigators have arrested a 65-year-old man in connection with a stabbing incident that happened last night in North Columbia.

John C. Geiger is charged with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.  He is accused of arguing with a male at the 2132 Main Street near the Main’s Best Gas Station at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021. The victim remains hospitalized.

After the stabbing, the suspect allegedly ran from the scene. CPD officers, including a K-9 Team set up a perimeter in the area. Within minutes, officers found Geiger near Elmwood Avenue and made the arrest.

After violent crime investigators interviewed Geiger, he was transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC). At last check, he  remained behind bars on a $30,000 surety bond set by a judge.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
