CPD’s Victim Advocate Supervisor Receives Community Partner Award

Congratulations to the Columbia Police Department’s (CPD) Law Enforcement Victim Advocate (LEVA) Supervisor Tréssa Dixon on being a recipient of the Community Partner award through the Gamecocks Stand Up Hero Awards initiative!

The 12th Annual Gamecocks Stand Up Hero Awards, hosted by Sexual Assault and Violence Intervention & Prevention (SAVIP), recognizes accountable bystanders – members of the Carolina community who speak up, stand up, take action, and make a difference in the lives of others. Through a variety of actions, large and small, Hero Award recipients have impacted the lives of students, peers, co-workers, and even complete strangers.

“One of our biggest Heroes this past year has been the Columbia Police Department’s Law Enforcement Victim Advocates. Tressa Dixon and her team of advocates have been invaluable to our students. Often with only a moment’s notice, they have collaborated with SAVIP, opening the door for an easier transition when a student needs to report. We thank you LEVA’s, as well as Sergeant Hass, for being willing to go above and beyond when serving our community.”  (award submission statement).
