Man Accused of Shooting at Multiple People Arrested

Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers have arrested a 38-year-old man accused of shooting at multiple people at a local motel.

Corrie D. Eleazer is housed at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC) on a $250,000 surety bond set by a judge after being charged with Five Counts of Attempted Murder and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

Eleazer is accused of shooting at five people during an argument with patrons at the the Budget Inn at 1601 Sunset Drive on April 1, 2022. Thankfully, no one was physically injured.  CPD crime scene investigators collected multiple pieces of ballistic evidence from the location.

All persons arrested/charged are presumed innocent until or unless proven guilty in a court of law.
