COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Columbia Police has charged Ivory Meminger II, 1247 Burlington Road, Walterboro, S.C., with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime following a fatal incident that occurred on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in the 500 block of Kimpton Drive.
According to the preliminary investigation, officers responded to the residence after a physical altercation involving family members. During the incident, one individual sustained a fatal stab wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The suspect remained at the residence and was taken into custody without incident before being transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and will be released by the Richland County Coroner’s Office.
“This is a deeply unfortunate incident involving family members, and our thoughts are with everyone impacted by this tragedy,” said Columbia Police Deputy Chief Melron Kelly.
