Two Teens Arrested in Burglary Investigation

Columbia Police Department officers assigned to South Region have arrested two teenagers accused of breaking into a home near Rosewood Drive.

Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of South Ott Road shortly after 9:15 yesterday morning after a citizen called in a tip about a home burglary. When officers arrived, they saw two males leaving the home through a door that was forced open.

The two suspects, Quincy Kam-Ron McLeod (DOB: 12-2-1998) and a 16-year-old juvenile, ran from the scene and were captured by officers during a brief foot chase.  McLeod and the co-defendant are charged with Burglary – Third Degree, Larceny, and Malicious Injury to Property.

During the arrests, officers recovered all of the stolen items including an iPad and firearm equipment. The property was returned to the rightful owner.

McLeod was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center (ASGDC) while the juvenile has been petitioned to appear in family court. A judge has set McLeod’s personal recognizance bond at $5,000.
