Crimestoppers | Deadly Shooting Investigation (Samson Circle)

Columbia Police Department (CPD) officers are investigating a shooting in which one male was killed and another injured at a North Columbia home last night.

The incident occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. at 41 Samson Circle. When officers arrived on the scene, they found an unresponsive male inside of the home.  The victim has been identified by Richland County Coroner Gary Watts as 30-year-old Cory Cornelius Jenkins (DOB: 10-13-1987).

After conducting an autopsy this morning, Watts determined that Jenkins died due to complications from gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Officers also found a second male victim inside the home; the 64-year-old male was suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper arm and was transported to a local hospital by EMS.

During the course of the investigation last night, CPD officers learned that two additional males arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds.

One male was injured in the upper body; the other victim was injured in the leg and has been treated and released from a local hospital.

CPD is working to determine if the men are connected to the isolated shooting or not. The exact motive for the incident remains under investigation.
