In an effort to connect more with our followers on social media, the Columbia Police Department launched a public safety social media team in 2017. By bringing together a group of officers and civilians to share and showcase the countless times officers go beyond their daily duties, the department created an opportunity for productive dialogue between officers and community members that helps build mutual trust.
Team members meet monthly to reviews trends in social media and develop content to share with followers on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
