Anyone receiving a Notice of Violation of the 2012 International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) from the City of Columbia may appeal to the Property Maintenance Board of Appeals provided that a written application for appeal is filed within 20 days after the day the decision, notice or order was served. An application for appeal shall be based on a claim that the true intention of this code or the rules legally adopted thereunder have been incorrectly interpreted, the provisions of this code do not fully apply, or the requirements of this code are adequately satisfied by other means, or that the strict application of any requirement of this code would cause an undue hardship.
The PMBoA meets the second Tuesday of each month when there are cases to be heard. If you would like to appeal and meet the requirements outlined above, please submit the application below to the Property Maintenance Division for review and consideration.
